It's important that an activity leader knows who to contact in case a volunteer has an accident. However this data also needs to be protected for GDPR reasons. At BBOWT we have been trialing these emergency contact cards
Method
1. Volunteers complete the postcard on arrival.
2. They hand it to the team leader when they sign the risk assessment and then collect it when they leave.
3. When volunteers forget to bring their postcard next time, they complete a new postcard.
4. When volunteers forget to collect the postcard at the end of the session it is destroyed (preferably by shredding)
